Some time ago I came across, a nice jQuery plug-in (jWYSIWYG) that turns regular html textareas into very simple WYSIWYG text editors.
At the time I thought that the plug-in would work really well replacing the normal WordPress comment boxes, and finally I found (made) a little free time to encapsulate jWYSIWYG jQuery plug-in into a simple WordPress plug-in, and you can see it in action on this site.
The plug-in is called Pretty Comments and is free for anyone to use.

Sorry, but why my images aren´t shown? I tested a local image as well as a web-located image… Also the image dialog in ie8 & firefox looks very different.
@Test
About the first question, if you don’t leave a link to your blog I can’t help you.
Regarding the second question, the answer is: the image dialog of ie8 and Firefox look very different because ie8 and Firefox are two very different browsers.
Hi!There is a problem that doesn’t allow users to post a comment if the want to answer to another user. This problem only happens with firefox, ie, safari and all the browser except opera.Thanks!
Gracias Petaqui, ya me había enterado, intentare arreglarlo como voy a tener un rato de tiempo.

Is it possible to use this fantastic plugin with any smiley plugin like Custom Smilies of Smiley Themer? By using Pretty comments the smilies are not clickable and don’t appear in the wysisyg editor…
To use all the original functions just edit jquery.wysiwyg.jsLook for “TOOLBAR”, after that you’ll find all the formatting functions; just change “visible : flase” to “visible : true” to turn on the feature, or viceversa.Bye
Great addon, thank you!
Hello!I use the last version of WP (2.9.2) and it seems your really nice plugin doesn’t work well with it … if this is the reason … I don’t know!Only the “link” function works. I can’t insert a picture, or change the writing (bold, italic, h1, h2 …).You can see my tests on today’s comments on this article : http://sur-les-chemins.toile-libre.org/?p=470Do you plan to update your plugin? It’s so helpful and handy!!Thank you anyway ;)
could you use this editor http://sandbox.leigeber.com/tinyeditor/ in the next version ?

I am unable to respond to comments either from the admin panel or the post when this plug-in is enabled. Does not work with version 2.9’s threaded/nested comments.
